It's Been A While

I've long long time never update my blog. It's really crazy life...

let's start with 1 April...it's really a crazy April Fool for me. Our company doing a lot online ads and that day, i receive a request that need to change all the ads. Wow...i was keep on uploading all the ads within that whole week...really a great kidding from god.

As i mentioned before, i've started my part time DJ career. Sometimes i was always went to the pub in Cheras. It's really a tiring life...Imagine after work, rushing to the pub until 3am then wake up at 8am morning. i just slept for few hours yet without any pay. Altho is tired but i really enjoying and i appreciate DJ Ben gave me such opportunity to learn. At the first few weeks, i was not spinning at all while just stand there and see how he did. Well, people may say i silly but i think i really need a strong foundation before i start doing anything. Even now, i still not spinning very well but it's already a great improvement from myself. I've named myself "J coding". Why? It is because i'm a programmer, coding is a programmer job while J is stand for my name, Jeffrey. Just like an UK DJ, Judge Jules who was a law student before. Nice huh?

August - First time ever went to Sky Trek at Taman Pertanian, Shah Alam. Previously i was miss that joined with Ah Seng they all. This time, i went together with angie, her sis and her colleagues. Damn, at first i really thought should be easy and who knows, i was the first "graduated". I was really tired and don't have that stamina to do that, what a shame!

On 16 Aug, i was given FREE VVIP ticket for Eason Chan's concert (Thanks to Chloe Chia). Eason was 1 of my fav artist. However, this VVIP seat was the most far from stage but served with F&B. However, before the show start, we had a nice meal at Ole-ole BALI which recommended by Angie. The food and environment is really nice. Then after the concert, they promote us to enter MOS for free. Angie never been there before so we went there to hang out for a while.

Sejarah Kemerdekaan Malaysia

I think this always the issue that debate by many peoples. Before we go on into this, let's us have some idea of our initially independence history of Malaysia.

Let's see another post in english

The Early Voices in Sejarah Kemerdekaan Malaysia
So I read several references and trace the seeds of independence back in 1906 to moslem reformists, wishing to end colonial rule to establish an Islamic state, began publishing magazines and newspapers to promote their cause. They also formed political parties such as:

1. The first Malay political party, Kesatuan Melayu Muda in 1937 led by Ibrahim Haji Yaakob. Japanese occupation ended it.

2.Parti Kebangsaan Melayu Malaya after the war in 1945 backed by the Malayan Communist Party with Mokhtaruddin Lasso, Dr. Burhanuddin al-Helmi( who later also led PAS, the Islamic Party of Malaysia in 1956 ) and Ahmad Boestamam as key figures. The British banned it 5 months later.

3.Hizbul Muslimin led by Uztaz Abdul Bakar al-Baqir in 1948, was a faction of PKMM above. The British banned it in the same year.

COMMUNISTS? - A Chapter of Bloodshed in Sejarah Kemerdekaan Malaysia

Their political ideology is the opposite of the capitalist British. However, they were useful allies during Japanese occupation, forming the most effective resistance force against the Japanese in Asia. The British supplied them arms and training and legalized their political party, Malayan Communist Party after the war.

The communists, mostly Chinese, also wanted independence for Malaya...in favour of a communist state, meaning equal rights for all races ( naturally ). So it was no surprise things turned sour when the Federation of Malaya established in 1948, which guarantees the special rights of Malays turned the communists to 12 years violent opposition, causing death of thousands. No wonder the government called them " pengganas komunis"!

Even after communist threat was declared over in 1960, it was only until 1989 they signed a peace treaty with the governments of Malaysia and Thailand to end their war of 'independence'.

Earth Hour

"Did you switch off your light?" I believe this is the common question/topic that peoples ask during Earth Hour on 28 Mac 2009.

Last night, i switched off my light at 8.20pm then went down to the pool side to observe my condo's area. It was largely disappointed. I was waiting until 8.35 and seems nothing happen. As you can see, the spotlight at the pool side still so bright and i think 60% of residents still opened the lights.

My gf, Angeline said there is 10% discount in Starbucks Coffee during Earth Hour. So we decided to have one and just drove out. Along the way to ss2, i really cannot feel any different compare with normal days. Those spotlights at the billboard still on.

Before we buy our coffee, i suddenly think of "spot check" at my friend's house. The first 1 was alice's house then followed by my best friend, chea chern.

Finally i found somebody that support with this activity. I guess peoples still not really aware about this campaign. i knew there are some shopping complex like 1U and the curve have such activities/event but i think somehow, government should be more participate in this like create awareness in public, corporate with TNB, and promote the campaign.

We drove all the way from kelana jaya to ss2 just for a cup of caramel machiatto. lolx...

I would like to share with you all how's the Earth Hour was going at other's countries:

DJ JEF

Djing always is my dream. I used to mix a lot with software like virtual DJ but i really hope i can spin on the real turntable someday.

Thanks to my friend, ah siak a.k.a. DJ bad boy ben gave me a chance to learn from him. He is the one who always encourage me to mix in the real DJ console rather than mix in the bedroom. On the past few days, i was following him to club & pub to learn on desk. Every night after working then i rushing to those pub until 3,4 am then i woke up at 8 am to go work again. Average 4 hours sleep on the past few days. It's real tired but i'm happy.

Somehow, when you come to live, that's really different from virtual. I used to play trance, the beat are usually long and easy to get at the begining & finishing part. I not sure whether i not familiar with RnB tracks, so it seem hard for me to match the beat. When come to the desk, everything just can't be organise well. I really need to fast catch up & over come that.
